My first trip with my new camera was to a museum on a riverboat. This place is called the Sergeant Floyd River Museum. It is dedicated mostly to Sergeant Floyd, who was on the Lewis and Clark expedition. The boat is the M.V. Sergeant Floyd.
Unfortunately I was concentrating so much on my new camera and taking pictures that I blew through this place without slowing down to get much information. I'll have to read everything a little more next time I go to this place. I got some good pictures though.
I'm writing this post late at night, and I'm still excited about my little trip and my new camera. I don't like to make my posts too long, so I won't take you inside the museum until my next post. But I have these pictures from outside.
I'll have to take another trip here pretty soon because the Missouri River and another few buildings to explore are right there. I didn't want to do too much in one trip so I only went to the one place. I'm not used to doing much yet, so I thought I'd take it a bit easy.
The museum is a fun place, and the whole area surrounding it is built for recreation. There's a nice walking trail that goes along the river, and a few other places that are similar to this museum. I'll be back there again soon to explore all of these places. And in my next post I'll take you inside the museum.
In the end I came, I saw, I bought a t-shirt. I think a museum on a riverboat is a fun idea, and I'm glad I got to visit it. I hope to go again and again. Maybe next time I'll slow down enough to be able to share some of the actual information that is available there. Talk to you later.
That is one sweet camera you have Ratty. I've used a Panasonic point & shoot model for several years. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm just learning about Panasonics and I'm already impressed. I already love mine.
Deletenice pictures!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteYou're luck to have a new camera. I have a point and shoot I picked up on vacation when my camera broke, but while I'm grateful to have it, I don't like it all that much. ;)
ReplyDeleteI saw you posting on Chuck's blog and came to ask you if that's Danger Mouse???? My son's favorite book series right now!! I never see him anywhere... I got excited, lol
Yes, it is indeed Danger Mouse. I'm a big fan of the cartoons. I think the only place to see them today is probably on Youtube though.
DeleteWe've never seen the cartoon. My MIL gave us half a dozen books she'd had in her basement for years and my son loves them. We'll have to check it on YouTube. :)
DeleteI am so looking forward to more photos with your new camera!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if my new camera will mean improved new photos, but I sure will try.
DeleteFantastic trip, interesting museum :) Regards
ReplyDeleteThanks. I hope to keep bringing more interesting places.
DeleteOOooooh! Snappy new camera! It takes nice photos, Ratty. I can't wait to see what other adventures you take us on.
ReplyDeleteI have so many new adventures planned that I don't know how to organize them all yet. I hope I can keep up with all my new plans.
DeleteA little kid is so happy. He finally got his new toy.
ReplyDeleteI really do feel like a little kid with a new toy.
DeleteI have a Panasonic Lumix, a wonderful lens and very easy operation. I love its portability and ease of use. Takes grand photos.
ReplyDeleteThe trip to the ede of the Missouri River looks so interesting, full of life and history!
I'm just learning about my Lumix and I'm already happy with it.
DeleteThere really is a lot more history here than I ever realized. I will be exploring a lot more of it in the near future.
Sounds like a great place. I'll put it on my list. The pictures look nice and crisp.
ReplyDeleteI'm learning that there a re a lot of great places like this around here, many of them related somehow to Lewis and Clark. I never knew before that there were so many of these places around here.
Deletecongratulations on your new camera, and indeed, having it could make us forget sometimes about other things when we are so engrossed shooting :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I now wish I would have slowed down just a bit so I could enjoy the museum a little more than I enjoyed the camera. I still had fun though.
