Little Donkeys

I've been so busy lately that I haven't been able to get on here nearly as often as I'd like. I hate when that happens because when I'm not doing it regularly I have a little trouble thinking of what to write in my posts. Things just don't flow as well. Things will come to me somehow though, but this will be a short one.

I came across these donkeys while traveling around. Most of the donkeys I keep seeing are little like these. I don't know if these are actually full grown or just young ones. I always thought donkeys were the size of small horses, but I've learned that it's not true for all of them. These only come up to about the height of my waist.

I've been learning that if I travel far enough I might see just about anything. I've seen dinosaurs, waterfalls, huge stone monuments, and these funny little donkeys. I try to share it all with you. Some of it's not so exciting, but some of these things are remarkable. Every bit of it is fun at the time though. Even though these donkeys ran from me when they saw me out there with my camera, they were fun too. The fun never ends. I'll talk to you later.

Just Roads

I've been more than a little busy lately so I haven't been able to do very many posts. These two pictures of roads are something I've wanted to post for a little while now. I thought I had three but I can't find that elusive third one.

There's really not much to say about these roads except I was exploring them and I just kind of liked the pictures. I don't think they're particularly impressive, just something I took a liking to. Besides, I can easily change the subject with not much to say here.

I recently began using my wood stove again after letting it go for a little while. The heat from the wood stove is actually better than the regular house heat. This particular stove heats the house more evenly. It even keeps the floors warm. The only problem is that I have to go outside to fill it with wood, and I didn't feel like going out in the cold until now.

I'm doing it now just to give myself more things to do while I'm at home. I've gotten a bit lazy and I'm trying to get back into better shape for when I go out hiking when the warmer weather gets here. Hunting season is just about over here, so I'll be back on the nature trails again. Hopefully I'll see some good wildlife then.

That's enough for this time. I'll talk to you later.

I'm Back With A Buffalo

I keep seeing buffaloes everywhere, but every one I see is a statue. I love the statues, but it would be nice to see a real wild buffalo once in a while. Even so, I loved this statue as soon as I saw it. I just had to stop and take a few good pictures.

I actually didn't go to this place intending to take pictures of a statue. I was really visiting a nearby state park in Nebraska. I have plenty of pictures from there too, but this buffalo immediately grabbed my attention as soon as I saw it.

The only problem with a statue is that it doesn't do anything. It just stands there waiting to be admired. A real buffalo would be walking around doing buffalo things I could talk about. Instead this statue leaves me with the thought of resisting talking about how bitterly cold it is around here.

We did get as little bit of snow. So it looks a bit whiter around here than it did before. Not much. I hear that it snowed heavily all around us again. That's weird. I don't really miss the snow much. If only it would get a bit warmer though. I'd like that. I'd like it a lot. I'll talk to you later.
