I thought I'd show you what it looks like around here right now. I didn't shoot these pictures with HDR. I wish I had now because the others came out so much clearer that way. I think I'll probably do most of my scenery pictures that way from now on to see if that makes them better.
You can see that we don't really have much snow here right now. I'm not sure why. There is plenty of snow north and south of us, but not here. Maybe it's just been too cold to snow. This has been the coldest winter ever in my lifetime.
I'm ready for the cold to end, but I don't need winter to end just yet. Oh sure, I like the warmer seasons better, but I've been doing just fine with winter this year. I've been able to get out and get some pictures pretty often, and some of the upcoming ones are kind of interesting.
I've taken so many pictures that I can't post them fast enough. I've tried to blog a little faster lately, but I just can't quite keep up with the number of pictures that I have. I need time to write and visit a few blogs along the way. One way or another though I'll get all of thew pictures I want posted.
The place you see in these pictures today is the same place I posted the pictures of last summer. This duller brown is a good contrast to the green fields that I posted then. I'd link to the post if it was easy to find, but I'll just leave how it looked up to your imagination.
This is the place where I come up to look for the wild buffalo. I come here many times that I'm out. One of these times I'll see them. It's a beautiful place even without them, but I'm still hoping to get lucky one day. That's my story, so I'll talk to you later.
Melting down here, a few schools closed because of freezing rain.
ReplyDeleteIt's looking like it's going to melt even more. We have some good warm weather on the way.
DeleteI like seeing the topography where you live.
ReplyDeleteThat's good because I have plenty of pictures of the topography. :)
DeleteThat's a real winter, real cool.
ReplyDeleteBut the other half of the globe is in real hot.
I don't really like the extreme cold we've been having, but I do like having winter.
DeleteEven without the HDR, I like your winter scapes.
ReplyDeleteI have plenty without the HDR, but the HDR will begin to be the majority in the future.
DeleteThis is wide open land – you must be able to watch great sunrise and sunsets there. Here we have too many hills and trees. I also would like to see some wild buffalo – I hope you can see one in your area.
ReplyDeleteI have to travel a few miles to see the best sunrises and sunsets. Where I live is surrounded by hills and trees. I still get a few good ones now and then though. One of these days I'll get the wild buffalo. I hope soon.
DeleteLovely photos! It's interesting to hear that it is so cold there at the moment. Our winter in London is so mild at the moment, we've hit positively balmy daily temps of 10c or 50f. In fact, I experienced colder winters in South Africa before! Still, I expect it'll get a lot colder soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're keeping nice and warm.
In years past the weather where I live has seemed to match the weather in your country, but I guess things can't stay the same forever. The good thing is that it has since warmed up here a little bit, but not as warm as where you are.
