As it turns out, this was actually the second picture of an animal I ever took. The first one was a deer that you can find here. It's odd how the passage of time has gone for me. It seems like I just started doing all of this, but now I barely remember getting this picture. It really took a lot of thinking to remember at all, and I'm still not sure.
I got this picture at a place called Heritage Park, at the trail that leads to a small shelter where almost nobody else ever goes. This may have even been the day I discovered that place, and now it's one of my favorite places to go and relax. One of these days I'll have to feature that place here too. Ahh, memories of days gone by...

ReplyDeleteThat's a great picture. I occasionally go back through my pictures to see what I may have overlooked. Sometimes i even find some good ones.
ReplyDeleteold photos are like treasure trove. you just have to check them out and re-assess their importance and value. when i checked out my old photos, i was surprised to discover that photography is in my blood long before i took it seriously.

I have some wonderful pictures I took in the past but the thought of scanning them seems almost overwhelming. The ones of Iguazu Falls on the Brazilian - Argentinian border I must find the time to do, though - they were so spectacular. I truly felt I had seen the face of God.

ReplyDeletea beautiful picture...my nephew has spent all summer trying to get a photo of a dragonfly but they are so fast we have yet to capture one...maybe one day we will be as great as you at photography and achieve our goal.

ReplyDeleteI love photographing dragonflies and damselflies! They have so many neat colors in them and their wings are so lacy looking!
One of the great things about digital photographs is that they are always available (not in some draw long forgotten).
ReplyDeleteI have so many now that an occasional trip down memory lane sometimes throws up some images I had forgotten about.
PS-make sure you have some backups!

ReplyDeleteDragonflies are so dainty and full of life as are butterflies. How did you manage to get so close without spooking the dragonfly? Dragonflies and butterflies seem like such magical creatures don't you agree?
