Geese In The Water
I've been having a little trouble coming up with things to say in a post, which is why I'm not posting quite as often as I'd like again. So I thought I'd just share this picture of geese in the water from the same little adventure I talked about in my last post. I meant to show it sooner. I could watch geese swim for hours, and I have. I'll talk to you next time.

I'm Back, With Some Old Friends
I'm back, and I brought some old friends with me. I didn't mean to be gone for so long. In fact, I didn't mean to be gone at all. It kind of just began with a couple of days and it turned in to a few weeks. I guess I just wanted some time off.
But I went out and found some old friends that reminded me that I was forgetting one of the things I love. I found these geese in the nature area of a business complex. I never seem to see them in the country.
I guess geese have developed a relationship with humans. They come around and feed off of the refuse and scraps that we leave them. I never realized this was happening before I moved away from Michigan and into the country. I was only in the city back then too.
It seems like a few years ago when I was in Michigan every other post was about geese or maybe squirrels. Now I rarely see either one, squirrels a little more often. I remember posting about a group of geese from the time they were eggs till they grew up. I watched the whole thing. It was fascinating.
My old geese saw me so often that they began to see me as a friend. They would come up close to me just because they didn't have any fear. They never expected anything of me. I never fed them or bribed them in any way. These geese today ran from me.
But that's okay. I may never go back to this place. It's not much for nature, but it does have some nice scenery. I have so many nature parks to visit that I want to visit all of them first. On this same day I found a new place that reminds me quite a bit of my old nature parks from Michigan. I'll revisit that one very soon. Who knows? Maybe there will be geese there too. I'll talk to you again soon.

A Rest At The Top Of The Hills
When I want to write a post I usually wonder what to write about first. Most of the time I get my subject from some of my pictures. If the picture isn't anything I can write about then I never share it. I have to have something to write about because I don't consider just the pictures to be great art or anything like that. I have to have both photos and writing.
My picture today shows one of the many viewing areas in Stone Park. They have these at several places on the highest hills there. You can see for miles from up there. It's nice to just sit on a bench and just look out over the countryside. I do that whenever I'm here.
When I talk about the hills here I'm not talking about something small. These hills are more what you would consider to be mountains. They're that big. The reason I call them hills though is that they're actually different than mountains in one important feature. Hills are made of dirt and mountains are made of rock. There is one section of hill here that is called a mountain. I can't remember the name. Maybe it's a real mountain, but I suspect not. I'll talk to you later.

Time For Turkey
I saw this turkey in Stone Park while I was exploring around a little bit. I had to take a few pictures quickly because it saw me too. This is the only one that didn't turn out blurry. The bird quickly hid itself behind a few trees so I had to move on.
Turkeys around here seem to be pretty comfortable with humans as long as they keep their distance. I was kind of close before we saw each other. It still didn't move away too quickly, but it did make sure it put some distance between us. I didn't bother chasing it to see how fast it could go.
Even though I only got this one picture I'm still happy because I get to show this turkey in its natural habitat. When I was a kid I remember seeing drawings of turkeys in settings just like this one. This is a little more interesting than the drawings.
