Ladybug Ladybug

I thought it would be fun to share these pictures of a ladybug with you this time. I love ladybugs. Doesn't everybody? These are my favorite kind of little bug, except for those kind that like to bite. Yes, some do bite, but it doesn't really hurt much.

These pictures look like some halfway decent macros, don't they? The only thing is that my macros always go wrong. The real answer is that these pictures aren't really macros. I just stood over these flowers and took the pictures while hoping for the best. I always get my best pictures that way.

These are actually the same pictures I posted last time, but I cropped them in close to the ladybug. That's what's so good about taking such high resolution pictures. If you get them right, you can look in at many tiny details.

I was just told in the last few days that I'll be able to go on my little journeys in a couple of weeks. So I'll be spending the next two weeks planning and preparing for my exciting new adventures. I hope I am able to do some of these things as fast as I want.

I want to do everything all at once, but I know I'll only be able to visit each place as soon as I get near them. One problem is that I already forgot where the nearest waterfalls are. I looked again, and I can only find the ones that are clear across the state. I need to keep looking. I should have saved those websites.

Yet my mind right now keeps going back to this little ladybug. I have to remember to keep looking at the small things. Often in my rush to do things, I forget about the small things. I want to see the little details whenever I'm out. I hope I can remember that. Talk to you later.

    1. A lot of what I like about ladybugs is that they are beneficial. It's just something special that an attractive bug can also be our good friend.

  2. Ratty, these are not half way decent, they are FANTASTIC macros and your little ladybug is adorable. Great shots. I am so happy you can get out there and journey around again. Way to go.

    1. I always get my best photos when I do them like this, but I'm not sure they're really true macros. I didn't use the macro setting, but that may be just a technicality.

  3. Try a tripod or monopod so you don't blur macros with movement. Some cameras have a macro setting or specific lens.Shot lots to get a few also.

    1. I've thought about a tripod recently, but I'm still not sure I want to carry one around. I have been messing most of the shots up when I use my macro setting recently. I think it's just because I need glasses, a condition that I will soon fix.

    1. I'm even more proud than the ladybug. I got lucky that it was even there.

  5. My human loves ladybugs and she is very protective of them. We kitties are not allowed to eat them.

    1. Your human is right to love ladybugs. They are very special little creatures, even though I'm sure they're still fun to eat.

  7. These are amazing photos Ratty. You made me think that I should try my shots in high resolution next time my macros aren't coming out to my liking. Thanks for the tip.

    1. High resolution on the camera is my favorite feature. Without it I'd probably never get any good pictures.

  8. I absolutely love these pictures. Ladybugs are so pretty. Funny, folks never seem to be afraid of them - but let a spider come along, that's a different story.

    1. Most people don't think of ladybugs as biters like they do with spiders.

    1. My trip will actually be several small trips all over the area. I'll still be coming back home on most days. I'm getting ready to begin in the next few days now.
