My Quiet Hike

I had a nice long hike yesterday. I was gone most of the day, and I am very tired. It's actually a great feeling to be tired in this way. The day was very satisfying. For this post I'm just going to show you some scenes from my day. I'm going to keep this at very few words. Consider it a sneak peek of what's to come.

  2. I do not think the second is a bird, I have doubt on both of them: 2nd and 3rd.

  3. Mike - The third photo is a plant called Common Milkweed. As the name suggests, they are quite common near me. I wrote a post a while back giving a description of it in my own strange way. Here's the link if you're interested: Milkweed

Rainfield - The second photo is indeed a bird. I used a dark photo purposely, so I can show the better ones later. The third one is a milkweed plant, like I explained to Mike. I tell a little about it in the link I left at the end of my answer to him. It's a very interesting plant, and it has some relation to butterflies.

  7. Gregorio - What I've seen of upstate New York is beautiful. The milkweed is a favorite of mine. And the hiking park I was in makes it easy to get great photos.

Sharkbytes - Actually, this one is one of my regular haunts. It's a huge place, and I found some good stuff there this time.

Ron Centeno - Yeah, I always come back from a hiking trip feeling relaxed.

I wanted to tell more in this post, but I was tired and falling asleep. A good hiking trip does that to me sometimes. There will definitely be stories to tell from that trip. I found some very good things this time.

  13. Marlene - These pods are one of my favorite plants. I'll be sharing all of this for as long as I can, and with a little more writing next time. :)

The Retired One - Instead of snow, we're getting rain and more rain. It's causing flooding in some places.

I'll be over to visit your site shortly. :)

Grottogirl - I'm glad I can help. Even looking up at the sky in a city can transport you to nature.

  15. Betchai - The milkweed pods in my newest picture is an empty shell from last year. When spring gets here and the plants grow green again, they are very interesting. I think I have photos on this site of this particular plant at all stages except for the very earliest.

  17. I think the Milkweed pods are definitely alien motion detectors monitoring your adventures. Well I can pretend can't I?

  18. VaBookworm - A walk through nature with a camera is one of the most relaxing things to do. It may not be quite as exciting as a trip to England, but you can do it whenever you want.

Thanks for the award. I really appreciate it.

Scott - If I start behaving strangely normal here, it's because the alien pod people got me. :) Pretending is one of my favorite things.
